Candidate Bio – Charline Gray

Charline Gray is a dedicated community leader and small business owner with a strong record of service in Independence. With over two decades of professional experience, Charline has combined her entrepreneurial spirit with her passion for public service, working every day to strengthen the community she calls home.

She proudly serves as a Board Member of the Independence Chamber of Commerce, Truman Heartland Community Foundation, Paws & Pals, and Bass Academy of Music. She is also the Independence Juneteenth Coordinator, helping to celebrate and preserve the city’s rich history and culture. Her commitment to accountability and transparency is reflected in her role on the Public Safety Tax Oversight Committee, while her dedication to fairness and inclusion is evident through her work with the Human Relations Commission.

In recognition of her leadership and impact, Charline was honored as the 2025 Chamber Ambassador of the Yearand named a 2025 Woman of Distinction Honoree.

Through her work, Charline has built strong partnerships, supported local businesses and nonprofits, and advocated for initiatives that enhance quality of life for families, seniors, and future generations in Independence. She believes in bringing people together to solve problems, foster opportunity, and build a thriving, connected community.
