This April will be a big election in Independence. Here’s why?
We will elect a mayor and two at large City Council members.
We also will elect two directors for the Independence Board of Education and three directors in the Fort Osage School District.
Other issues which will be on the April 2026 ballot include:
Independence School District
$60 million no-tax-increase bond issue from the Independence School District.
Fort Osage School District
$35 million no-tax increase bond issue for building facilities
No-tax to increase operating levy increase and reduce the debt service levy.
